Welcome to the Game"

Introduction and Appearance

The Puppets were first introduced in 925 Cranbrook Dr. as representations of Caught as seen through a monitor. There were three marionettes, all three representing three basic emotions, or personalities: Happiness, Anger, and Sorrow (or Fear). They have since been seen together and apart (most often anger, or maliciousness separated from the other two) and have since been seen to have freed themselves from the confines of their marionette status. They are seen as white faced, dark-eyed versions of Caught, each with specific wardrobes that identify their character. Happy is seen in bright colors, typically a bright orange coat (also worn by Caught in the flashback during 1472 Lansing Place: Five.; Sad is in darker, bluer colors; and Angry, or Malicious is seen in a grey sweatshirt, the same wardrobe that Caught often wears.

The Mirror, so named by the viewers of CaughtNotSleeping, is an undefined character who's role in the series has not been firmly cemented. As of yet The Mirror has only appeared in the CaughtNotSleeping Tinychat but was confirmed to be an In-Game character with the release of Little Butterfly's box from RoivasSevil, which was tampered with by the mysterious antagonist. In the chat they have appeared primarily under the name "Yasurc", in reference to the screen name of Butterfly Papilio; but in reverse, and Samadoyht, after Butterfly Thyodamas. They often type in text that is upside-down. They also refer to themselves in several pronouns, often expressing themselves as "We/they/she/it/he are displeased"; or some variation thereof. "They" have since appeared in the main series alongside the puppets, as a long armed, inhuman figure with no legs and no eyes. It is most notable for it's large smile, teeth, and the blue glow emanating from it's torso.

These two characters were officially connected in "Into the Dark", when the Mirror was seen 'controlling' the Happy puppet and later replacing it when Natalie entered the "dark place". It is yet unclear if the Mirror is the puppeteer, or the puppets themselves.

Behavior within the Series

The Puppets are extremely antagonistic and have shown themselves to be a direct threat towards Natalie, though have yet to make a move towards Caught. They have repeatedly Though they were once confined to electronic screens and controlled by strings, they have since broken loose and entered the real world to physically attack Natalie; though neither attempt has been shown to deal lasting damage. It would seem that they are not fully defined by the physical world, as their movements and actions are often twitchy, and inconsistent; often moving from place to place with alternatively extreme speed and extreme slowness. The puppets themselves do not seem to fully control themselves, and the Mirror that controls them seems only visible in "the dark place".

Introduction and Interaction with the Players

RoivasSevil, before leaving to go assist Natalie in the alley, warned Papilio against mirrors, shortly thereafter Mirrors entered chat, threatening Papilio and several other butterflies. One of the more openly antagonistic of the characters in the chat room; Mirrors has shown itself to give false information; steal items from the Butterflies; and intercept messages. Even having been caught in lies (such as telling the Butterflies that RoivasSevil was dead), Mirrors rarely acknowledges this, and only continues to antagonize the audience further. They have taken to referring to the butterflies as "Best Friends"; and have repeatedly referred to RoivasSevil by the term "Dawn Flower" in a variety of non-Latin languages. Though it's connection with RoivasSevil is not yet known. It has expressed some malevolence towards her, however, as well as Laparus, after his experimental coded video aimed towards contacting RoivasSevil.

Most notably, Mirrors confirmed it's In-Game status after intercepting Little Butterfly's RoivasSevil Box (Package #2). Having taken both pieces from the included puzzle, and part of a message from RoivasSevil (possibly more); a message was burned onto the outside of the package, claiming that "We you they us she have taken what is rightfully ours. If you wish to receive it, you will do as we say." Once the puzzle was completed, they entered chat demanding that six people perform a ritual involving breathing on mirrors and repeating "I see you, you see me". This was refused by most and responded with by many players who instead wrote "I can't hear you, you can't get me" on their mirrors in the style of the 925 Cranbrook runners. Although it has not been outright admitted, it has been implied that this successfully kept Mirrors at bay to some degree.

The Mirror eventually turned it's focus on Butterfly Thyodamas, forcing her to give up her light in exchange for Loxura's protection. It was implied that the Mirror was planning to utilize the light against the Butterflies, but before given a chance, the Butterflies performed attacks to effigies for the creature, freeing the light. In a last ditch attempt, he attack theunknown, but was prevented from killing her by Apollo, who sacrificed herself for theunknown's life. Eventually between RoivasSevil and the Butterflies attacks, The Mirror was forced into submission.
